We were amazed today when we presented with a solar powered water fountain that has a scallop shaped base (to represent Em's love for the ocean) and it has 3 layers made of flowers and attached is a beautiful butterfly. There are also vines and leaves wrapped beautifully around and Katya (yes, I was getting to the artist!) amazingly added sea glass which Emily and I collected. Katya Edson is the sister of Natalya who Emily has played with since they could walk. Parents Tammy and Greg (forgive me Tammy if I'm misspelling your name! Tami? I'll fix it!) raised these amazing two beautiful, thoughtful girls. See below to read the poems that Natalya and her friends read to us today in honor of Emily. We will forever remember this day. Thank you Katya for this amazing permanent installation in our amazing neighborhood...and yes, it will be cemented...It is for Emily and she will protect it.:)
Today, May 26, 2014, our neighbor Jay Pontbriant who presented the following poem to Eric and I and the rest of our amazing neighbors who came to celebrate year one of missing Emily. Above are pictures of Emily's friends who also wrote poems and read them to the proud crowd! We all said "I love you Emily" as the balloons left to join her. (click on the different poems to read them!)

THE CIRCLE
The circle of life
The yin and the yang
The transition from here to there
From body to spirit
Let this be a celebration of life...Emily's life!!!
It is a time to heal, a time to reflect, a time to appreciate...
What this child taught us all.
The pain is ours, not hers; for she is fine.
She only hopes you will remember the joy she brought to you.
Not in sadness, but deep inside because...
This is the circle of life
The yin and the yang
and the transition from here to there
and this is a celebration of
EMILY'S LIFE!
Jay designed the cul-de-sac at the end of Blue Heron Drive to look like a yin yang. It is amazing.

We all couldn't believe it when we noticed that the rock that our kids have always being sitting on actually looks like a heart!
We just had Balboni's carve the rock in Emily's memory! See below!
A special thank you to Johanna and to the man (I will look at his card-Eric has it!) at Balboni's. You did a wonderful job!!!!! Thank you!
Thank you neighbors from SeaSide Village for helping plant beautiful flowers and a tree and ordering a bench in
Emily's memory.
